Mathew 17:20 suggests that it is by faith that mountains can be moved. The mountain in this verse must be "taken figuratively of any seemingly immovable obstacle" (Guthrie, 1989, p. 839). Faith is the ability to "fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal" (2 Corinthians 4:18, NIV). Throughout human history, there have been many mountains moved by the faith of a few. These mountains include human flight, the mass adoption of electricity, a cure for polio, Disneyland, and 10,000 songs in the palm of one's hand. These innovators and entrepreneurs were able to see beyond what was, and see what could be. Faith in an idea before it has any social proof or history of success is a faith held only by risk-takers, innovators, and entrepreneurs. While the mountains may not move by them alone, it is with them that the relocation is set into motion.
